Chief Accountant / CFO

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and ensuring the integrity of the full accounting and financial management process in accordance with Latvian laws and international accounting standards;
• Leading the preparation of financial statements, tax declarations, and internal/external financial reports to support business decision-making;
• Driving efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement across accounting and finance operations;
• Providing strategic leadership to the finance and accounting team, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory compliance;
• Overseeing cash flow, working capital management, accounts receivable/payable, and inventory accounting processes;
• Leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company’s annual budget and long-term financial planning;
• Managing relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, banks, and other financial institutions;
• Acting as a key business partner to the executive leadership team, providing financial insights, risk assessments, and recommendations to support strategic decisions;
• Supporting cross-functional initiatives and ensuring financial alignment across departments;
• Ensuring accurate and timely financial forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis.

Candidate Requirements:

• Higher education in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CFA, CPA) will be considered an advantage;
• In-depth knowledge of Latvian financial legislation, tax regulations, and international accounting standards (IFRS);
• Proven experience (at least 3 years) in a Finance leadership role, such as Chief Accountant, CFO, or Head of Finance;
• Strong track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning;
• Experience in leading finance teams, managing cross-functional collaboration, and driving financial transformation initiatives;
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights;
• Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Word); experience with MS Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems is highly desirable;
• Solid working knowledge of accounting and financial management software;
• Fluent in Latvian and English for regional and international communication;
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
